Woke up at the crack of dawn to get to the beach before 12. That’s that shit I do like.
This particular weekends excursion? The and b-e-a-utiful city of Sihanoukville.
The plan for those who were scuba diving was to be on the bus on Friday at 5am. Everyone else needed to be ready to go by 8:30am. I like the beach. I like the beach and open water, ALOT. I’m usually that person that gets to the beach at 10am. Idk I just think that’s the absolute best way to get your day going. Being the genius I am, I put two and two together and figured out if the scuba group left at 5am and it was a 4 hour trip…what do you know, they should get to the beach area around 9am. The 8am group? They would arrive at 12/1 (it was a bigger bus). What did I ask to do? Ding ding ding! Take the 5am bus!
Despite the absolutely insane Thursday afternoon I had with Anne and our spa day fiasco? (Apparently Anne brings the party everywhere she goes), I sacrificed sleep and hopped on the early bus.
Joey and Josh got cozy on the ride in….everybody needs a person to lean on, you know?
While waiting for the scuba divers boat we admired the beautiful Cambodian stream, river thing #KeepCambodiaClean
And yes, we made it to the beach before noon. Life was grand.
Meg and I took a ‘few’ photos…just a few
ALSO lost my toenail. While training for my first half marathon, Pier to Peak , one of my toenails became loose? I figured it would come off during the race. But it didn’t. Blah blah blah the beautifully pedicured toenail and I said our goodbyes at the beach on this fine day. You don’t like it? Too bad. Keep scrolling.
Cows clearly meandered over to say their goodbyes to my toenail too. Jk. But apparently everyday from 2-4 they cross the river to this side and hang for a bit. Cool stuff.
When I was taking a nap my phone was getting a lot of action. Like this photo of me sleeping. Thanks Megan, this must be the 348th photo you have of me sleeping. I think it’s time you produce an album!
Meet George

Here’s George as a youngin’
Here’s George on a boat ‘taking my picture.’
He’s okay.
Nawt
This adorable 8 month old Khmer baby let me hold him. Absolutely adorable, I wanted to keep him//seriously thought about kidnapping him.
The sunset was uhhhhhhhhMAZING.
The boys insisted they get a photo together looking chill. You can’t see it very well but josh shirt says ‘no money no honey’ LOLOLOLOLOL
Poor josh didn’t have anyone to cozy up with on the ride to the hotel…..so he bonded with the window and the curtain?
During dinner the little Khmer kids would not leave us alone. Usually it would be annoying, but these kids were funny and entertaining. Rob is a big sucker and ended up buying everyone at dinner a lantern which ended up being awesome. We all lit them and let them go in the sky together. Looked pretty rad
We ended the night pretty early–the scuba kids had to be ready to go by 8am and I just wanted to be on the boat with them/make it to Turtle Island, as Ishy named it. Well we tried of end it early. Anne, that bZ discovered a massive spider in our room. And then she bailed on us. The spider was not only ginormous IT WAS A JUMPER. And I swear it could read minds. Before I even took a swing at it, it was moving. I tried, Megan tried, Jessie tried, no one one catch the little fucker.
The problem got serious when it disappeared. So Meg and I were forced to call reinforcements….Joey and Dustin. Paul was too intoxicated to help, but I forgive him. But even the reinforcements couldn’t find the spider so Megan and I ‘slept’ with the lights on. I didn’t really sleep, every other hour I would wake up thinking the fucker was on me.
I was delighted when my alarm went off….I could say peace out to the spider and it was home to get on the boat!!!!
hahahaha laughing out loud in bed right now..such a fun weekend!!
