Eating in Vietnam: Banana Leaf

IMG_8815 IMG_8819

I had banana leaf my very first night in Vietnam. Soooo necessary considering the day that I had — you can read about that debacle here

Hien took us out for street food pho which was a perfect/classic first Vietnamese meal but I needed something sweet!  Hien–being the food guru that she is read my mind and suggested we go to banana leaf for zert. Being exhausted and completely out of it, we (smartly) let Hien order for us.  I had no idea what she ordered. She was speaking in Vietnamese and speaking fast. But ohhhhhmyyyyygooodness, best decision of my life. Out comes what looks like a crepe  (the Vietnamese call it something else, I’m calling it a crepe) with chocolate oozing from all sides. I’m actually craving it as I type this out.
