Everyone’s Irish on March 17th

When I made the oh so difficult decision to move to Leeds I knew that there were experiences and trips I wouldn’t under any circumstances miss out on. One of the many on my list was to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Dublin.

We flew into Dublin the night before St. Paddy’s, and flew out the morning after. At 8am. Prices for hostels, Air Bnb’s and hotels were much higher than any normal time in Dublin so we decided to pay for our first night in Dublin and leave our things in the hostel until we were done celebrating and to head to the airport.

As you can imagine the day was insane, things got weird and bartenders were trying to give everyone alcohol poisoning by doing things like this:

One thing to note, is St. Paddy’s is considered a religious holiday (LOL) so liquor wasn’t sold until 4pm. We quickly found our way around that problem going to a little cafe who secretly sold Irish coffee  and Guinness in take away cups. At noon the bars opened and our day began. Guinness and Jameson shots allllll day (Responsibly of course, Belinda and Jaymes).

If you have the opportunity to celebrate St. Paddy’s in Dublin I one bazillion percent recommend it.

Did you experience St. Patrick’s day in Ireland? What was your experience like?

My next trip is King’s Day in Amsterdam. TIPS WELCOME!
